Dr. Mathias Schemmerer from the Institute of Clinical Microbiology and Hygiene at the University Medical Center Regensburg will present on the work of the National Consultant Laboratory for Hepatitis A and Hepatitis E viruses on January 29, 2026 at 3:00 pm in the Pharmacology Lecture Hall.

Increase in Hepatitis A cases in Austria: The Institute of Virology confirmed 11 infections by PCR in 2025 – significantly more than in previous years. These observations underscore the importance of preventive immunization against Hepatitis A.
