At the institute of virology we strive to contribute to a better prevention and therapy of virus infections. We are dedicated to ensuring excellent training for scientists and physicians, cutting-edge diagnostics and pioneering research in virology. Thereby our diagnostic, research, training and transfer activities aim at developing modern virology to improve the quality of human life.
In this endeavor the section focuses on three major areas: Research on emerging virus – host interactions, development of antiviral therapies and vaccines and clinical virology including virological/serological diagnostics.
