3rd Place for Barbara Falkensammer at ISMD2026 in Graz

The International Symposium for Molecular Diagnostics (ISMD) marked its 14th edition this year, building on a tradition of more than 25 years. Organized by the Austrian Society for Laboratory Medicine and Clinical Chemistry (ÖGLMKC), ISMD2026 brought together lab medicine experts, researchers, and industry professionals at Graz Airport from June 18–19, 2026 to discuss current developments in molecular diagnostics.

Among the numerous posters presented, Barbara Falkensammer secured 3rd place in the poster competition with her work “Method comparison of Influenza, RSV, and SARS-CoV-2 PCR detection during the respiratory season 2025.” Her study compares different PCR detection methods for influenza, RSV, and SARS-CoV-2, offering a practically relevant contribution to improving diagnostics for respiratory infections.
